Who We Are

The Coalition for Family Health was formed in summer of 2008 by member-organizations throughout Ohio that sought a way to come together in the interest of advocating for public policies that put prevention first!  With a focus on reproductive health care, the Coalition has embraced the Ohio Prevention First Act as its legislative priority.  The work of the Coalition is not done until all women, teens and families in Ohio have access to affordable reproductive health care.

Today, the Coalition is more than 40 member-organizations strong and growing.  In December of 2010, the Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO) became the convening organization.  PCSAO's commitment to promote the development of sound public policy and program excellence for safe children, stable families, and supportive communities makes them a natural fit to lead the Coalition for Familty Health.  The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) served as the first voluntary convening organization for the Coalition from June 2008 through November 2010.

Our mission and vision statement follow, as well as a list of our current members.

MISSION
The Coalition for Family Health provides its member organizations, unified in their commitment to self determination in reproductive healthcare, with an organized voice to advocate for public policies and practices that promote the prevention of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections/diseases and the rights of each individual and family to safe, legal, and accessible reproductive healthcare services.

VISION
Ohio is widely recognized as a state where it is a fundamental right of each individual and family to have full and equitable access to comprehensive, quality reproductive healthcare services, products, and education that encourage safe and responsible behavior and the prevention of unintended pregnancies and sexually-transmitted infections/diseases.
